The Walmart AMP’s summertime lineup keeps getting better, and 2019 won’t be an exception to that pattern.

Santana already took the stage at the Northwest Arkansas outdoor concert venue on April 28, and fans will see The Avett Brothers, Nelly, Earth Wind & Fire, The Killers, Brad Paisley and Sheryl Crow before the summer comes to a close.

“It’s quite possibly their most impressive season to date,” said Robert Locke, co-founder of Shindigmusic, a website that keeps up with the Arkansas music scene. “The diversity of genres would have to be the thing I like about this year’s concert schedule. Young and old, there’s certainly something for everyone this year, and that’s proving to be something the AMP is getting better and better at with each season.”

Indeed, this summer’s schedule includes alternative bands like Jimmy Eat World and Ra Ra Riot, rock legends such as Yes and Santana, folk rock music by The Avett Brothers and hip-hop stars Nelly and Flo-Rida. There’s a nice country music lineup, too, with Brad Paisley (June 27), Alan Jackson (Aug. 8) and Rascal Flatts (Aug. 31) scheduled to perform.

Today kicks off what’s billed as National Concert Week, and the Walmart AMP is one of the venues across the U.S. that’s selling some tickets at a discount. The price of general admission lawn seats is $20 for 17 different events at the AMP, starting with The Avett Brothers show on May 17 and ending with Maze on Sept. 8. The discounted tickets are available through next Tuesday..

Locke said he’s most looking forward to July 21 when Yes and Asia perform.

“For fans of 60s and 70s rock, this is the one that seems to be generating a ton of excitement in the area,” Locke said.

Shindigmusic has an overview of the entire AMP lineup on its website, describing the AMP’s schedule as the “biggest slate of shows in its history.”
