Arkansas Soul Media, an emerging digital media platform for, by and about BIPOC Arkansans, is proud to announce the launch of SoulCon | BIPOC Media Conference happening April 6 – 8, 2022 at Mount Sequoyah. The conference is the first of its kind in Arkansas, bringing together a limited number of media professionals of color in journalism, film, marketing, creative and advertising in partnership with the Micheaux Award and Film Labs.

Goals & Keynote Speakers
The conference seeks to bring high value, relevance and accessibility to the media conference experience. The goal is to be of service to the growth and overarching support of media professionals of color across the industry. This conference will feature three days full of networking, workshops, essential keynotes, presentations and more.
The conference keynote speakers include DeShuna Spencer, founder and CEO of kweliTV; Jocelyne Pruna, Miami-based bilingual TV news anchor and producer for Peacock and NBC Universal; and C.J. Hunt, comedy writer and documentary filmmaker who will screen and speak about his breakout documentary The Neutral Ground.
Workshops & Learning Tracks
Attendees can expect to learn, build and network with some of the best in the media industry. SoulCon’s stellar lineup includes speakers from Arkansas PBS, CACHE NWA, Fayetteville Film Fest, Fayetteville Public Television and several workshops lead by experienced reporters, marketers, influencers, filmmakers, producers and creative agency owners.
There are three learning tracks for attendees of SoulCon: Journalism, Film/Video and Promotion (which includes workshops for creatives, marketers, PR specialists and advertisers). Workshop titles include “Showing up for your community as a BIPOC Journalist,” Understanding the Production Process,” “Pitch Bootcamp,” “Creative Agency MasterClass,” “The Leadership Trajectory,” “Brand to Business,” and so much more.
