Land Stewardship Coordinator
The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust (NWALT) is a regional non-profit, 501c3 conservation organization based in Fayetteville and dedicated to preserving quality of life in Northwest Arkansas through the permanent protection of land.
NWALT is currently looking for a Land Stewardship Coordinator who will play a critical role in the organization and must have experience in land stewardship, natural resources management, and a strong background in the biological sciences. The LSC serves as the boots-on-the-ground land manager for nature preserves as well as chief monitor of conservation easements. The position is approximately 75% field work with daily activities consisting of trail maintenance, invasive plant removal and control, biological inventories, and restoration activities. Progressive Trail Design specializes in the design and construction of soft surface trails, riding features, and mountain bike parks. For those familiar with trails around Northwest Arkansas, if you have experienced the Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, hit the Back 40 or played around at the Railyard Bike Park—you’ve been a first-hand witness to their craftsmanship.
The team is currently looking to bring on three new people with an interest in trailbuilding. Previous trailbuilding experience is not required, but riding what you help build is a must! One of the positions is for a mechanic/builder to work in their shop and help maintain equipment when not out laying trail. Compensation will be based on skills and experience with benefits packages available to full-time employees.
