BikeNWA and local partners invite the Northwest Arkansas community to participate in the NWA Bike Challenge during Cycle September, a national campaign and global initiative.

NWA Bike Challenge x Cycle September

The NWA Bike Challenge is set to take place during Cycle September, a global competition with individuals and organizations coming together to help more people realize the benefits of riding a bike!

The month of friendly competition is also a competition for our region and state; as we compete against other areas of our size nationally. Last year, Arkansas won the national community challenge for states with 2M to 4M residents!

This year’s goal is to not only defend our title but to also grow participation—making it clear to the nation how truly “bike-enthused” we are.

Love To Ride!

There are weekly challenges to award riders of all abilities, as well as overall Cycle September winners for top riders and most miles.

The community is encouraged to create teams, whether with their office team, peers, or family! This challenge is open to all bikes; cruiser, recumbent, unicycle, tricycle, mountain bike, road, gravel—you name it.

Participants can track their rides with the Love to Ride app or automatically track their rides by connecting their Strava, Endomondo, or Map My Ride app. Register on Love to Ride by September 1 to enter the national early bird registration prize drawing for a Charge e-bike!

Where to Ride?

Anywhere! Riders can jump on their bike from home, work, or their favorite park and record their trek. Ride for at least 10 minutes in any direction, and it counts! For route and trail ideas, check out NWA Trails, OZ Trails, Explore Northwest Arkansas, the Razorback Greenway, and Arkansas State Parks.

This year the NWA Bike Challenge will be introducing highlighted routes in the various NWA communities encouraging riders to explore cities on a new or underused path. Both shorter, accessible routes for new riders and families, as well as longer routes to challenge riders will be shared on the NWA Bike Challenge page and social media.
